Westminster Police Department K-9 Unit
Witness K-9 demonstrations on drug sniffing, obedience, bite work and more. These dogs are part of the K-9 unit from Westminster Police Department.
Deputy Fosler & Jessie
Deputy Kelly Fosler has been with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office for 16 years, prior to this she was a dispatcher for the Westminster Police Department. With JeffCo, she worked in the jail for a year, on Patrol and Fugitive Team. After fugitive, she returned to patrol and had the bloodhound approved to work with the department. She got Jessie when the dog was 8 weeks old and started training at 10 weeks with our, now retired, bloodhound handler. At 1½ years, Jessie was allowed to work with Deputy Fosler. Jessie is trained in man tracking (trailing) and human remains detection. She currently trains with members of the Search and Rescue Dogs of the United States who base their standards on FEMA standards.They work patrol in the Golden, Arvada, Westminster area and handle regular calls throughout the day.
